How to Use Google Hangouts for Remote Meetings
Since many people are working remotely at the moment, continuing business as usual has been very tough. Many weren’t or still aren’t prepared to get everyone running smoothy which can easily lead to a communications break down leaving employees unsure of what needs to be done. Due to this, remote meetings have become a must but you need a solid application to support these calls that has all the functionality you need.
For this, we would highly recommend you use Google Hangouts. It is completely free unless you want to record and save the meetings and allows for up to 150 participants to join. The only thing you need to access it is a Google account which most people will have nowadays due to it being tied to your YouTube account. If you don’t have an account or want to set up a separate one, this can be easily done by using your business email address. The calls can be done one on one or to a group and it allows for up to 25 users to be connected using video chat at the same time and unlike many other free offerings, there is no time limit to the calls.
Google Hangouts is installed as an extension through this link here on Google Chrome. Once installed, it will appear as a normal application like Outlook or Word. Then you can easily add and invite team members to chat and call using the email address they signed up with. All you need to do is click on ’New Conversation’ then enter their email and you’ll be connected. From here you can create a group which will allow everyone to talk to each and for a call to be setup which anyone in the group and join or leave at anytime.
